Focus on what you can do

I've always been a negative person, but I'm still trying to have a positive mindset every day.

But honestly, I've been living with this personality for years now.

It's hard to change my mind.

However, I often hear that if you give up, the game is over, and I really think that's true.

This is a story from way back when, when I was in elementary school, I didn't study and just played in the park all day.

I was never very smart to begin with, so naturally my grades were poor and it was normal for me to be second from the bottom.

I will never forget that math lesson.

As usual, I couldn’t solve any of the math problems and looked down. Then the teacher said,

"Yes, you answer."

I try to answer but...

"...."

Of course there's no way I could answer that.

I remember being told to just sit down, and sitting down with tears of frustration in my eyes.

On the way home from school, my classmates would often call me stupid.

That makes me so miserable an feel frustrated .

A while later, I heard that my grandmother's favorite cousin had taken the entrance exam for junior high school and was going to a private school.

When I saw my cousin, who I never thought of as particularly smart, being praised by my grandmother for passing the entrance exam to a private school.

I felt a complex mix of jealousy and regret.

I definitely don't want to lose to my cousin

"But wait! Is there anything she can do that I can't do?”

”I'm going to go to a private school too!"

I decided to do this and begged my parents to let me go to a cram school at the beginning of sixth grade.

And then I studied hard for a year.

At first, I was nervous just stepping into the cram school space.

However, because it was a really good cram school, I would stay after school and proactively ask the teachers about anything I didn't understand.

And the effect was immediate.

One day at school, the teacher called on me again and asked me to answer.

I solved it smoothly and had a look of victory on my face.

I've never felt this good before.

From this point on, my grades were on the rise and at school,

I'm no longer one of the dumb kids, but I'm in the smart kids' league.

After that, I successfully passed the exam.

I'm not just trying to brag about how smart I am, but I want to tell you,

If you don't give up

The effort will be rewarded

That's what I mean.

As a fifth-grader, I probably didn't know what it meant to work hard.

That's all.

I believe that anyone can achieve their goals if they know how to work hard.

So, once you find something you want to do,

Until I can lift my heavy butt and achieve my goal,

Run to the end.

I am currently working towards a new goal.

I will do my best to run to the end.

I hope this story will inspire you...

See you next time❤︎
